An impromptu performance by Stephen Stills playing Bluebird with the Buffalo Springfield Revisited at the Palomino in North Hollywood, circa July, 1986 This was the first time that Stills heard the Revisited as well as first time he played with his old bandmates and founding Springfield members, Bruce Palmer and Dewey Martin in almost 20 years. Frank Wilks, the lead singer, really nails the guitar opening and I think that he caught Stills by surprise. I have it from a good source that the cameraman was at the performance to party down, wasn't planning on shooting that night and would even be willing to bet that he was pleasantly stoned. LMAO! A promotional video that I put together in 1986 to give the Buffalo Springfield Revisited. With the help of some editing magic and cutaways, I tried to give them a multi-camera look using the single camera that I had available. This was the first time that Stephen had heard the band perform and the first time time that he, Bruce Palmer and Dewey Martin had played together in almost 2 decades. The audio comes from a board feed and the camera work and lighting could've been better, but it was the best I could do at the time. I was literally pulling gels off of the par lights to raise the levels when the band started playing. LMAO!! Fortunately, it was a friendly house and the crowd didn’t mind the distraction- they knew that they were getting more than they had bargained for. I think that Stephen was inspired by the band that night, as much as the band was jacked up playing with him. The clip begins with Bruce Palmer finishing up his account of what had gone down that led to the confrontation between the “hippies” and the National Guard on the Strip the night that For What It’s Worth was written. Con la ayuda de algunos trucos de edición y montaje, traté de darle un aspecto de multicámara habiendo utilizado la única cámara que tenía disponible. Esta fue la primera vez que Stephen asistió a la actuación del grupo y la primera vez que él, Bruce Palmer y Dewey Martin tocaban juntos en casi dos décadas. El audio proviene de una conexión de la mesa y el trabajo de la cámara y la iluminación podrían haber sido mejores, pero hice lo mejor que pude en ese momento. Literalmente estaba desempolvando un par de focos para nivelar la iluminación cuando el grupo arrancó a tocar. ¡Toma ya!
